What is the Dermafix pen and How does it work?
The Genosys Dermafix Pen used by Skin Radiance is a market leading micro-needling product. As the name suggests, it is a pen shaped device with a set of fine, short needles at one end. The fine needles move up and down, and when placed upon the skin creates micro channels, tiny holes in the skin. This in turn forces the skin to ‘heal’ itself and thus generates the natural production of collagen and elastin in the treated area. This is how this treatment targets specific areas, forcing the body to heal itself of scares and the like. It also creates absorption rate of active ingredients in skin care products.
Whats's Involved?
The Dermafix pen is moved slowly over the surface of your skin area(s) you wish to target. You may feel slight pricking sensations or slight discomfort during the treatment but nothing severe. The treatment will take around 30 minutes from start to finish, depending on how many areas you want targeting and is virtually risk-free.
How Long does the treatment last?
The treatment usually takes around 3 days settle down, after which point you should be able to notice the benefits in the areas treated. These benefits vary greatly depending on the area and problem treated, which I will discuss at your free skin consultation pre-treatment. If you are happy with my advice, you can expect results to last from 1-3 months, sometimes longer.
What are the side effects of the treatment?
Side effects are not common but may include - redness or tenderness and a feeling of heat in the skin at the treated site. These symptoms should resolve within a few hours or within 1-3 days.

Dermafix Pen treatments are not suitable for any individual with Myasthenis Gravis, Lambert Eaton Syndrome, patients with swallowing difficulties, pregnant or breastfeeding women, those under 18 years or over 65 years of age and those who have an infection at the proposed injection site.
