HIFU the Non - Surgical Facelift
HIFU stands for high intensity focused ultrasound and is an innovative, painless and non-invasive way to reduce wrinkles that lasts up to two years and is skin-friendly. Additional applications include face and brow lifting, tightening of the connective tissue and cellulite treatment. Highly concentrated ultrasound waves penetrate deep into the skin and stimulate collagen and elastin production. 20% of the result can be seen immediately after the treatment. 3-6 months later, the final result is visible.
The highly focused ultrasound activates and accelerates the body's own healing process in the face, neck and décolletage areas and thereby helps sagging skin to tighten itself and become firmer. This method requires no creams, no artificial filler products or toxins. It relies solely on the body’s natural regenerative capacity. Since the treatment targets deeper layers, the surface of the skin is not affected. After the treatment, you can simply go about your usual activities.
How does HIFU work?
The focused ultrasound travels deep down, hitting the SMAS layer in the skin. A treatment involves hundreds and hundreds of ‘shots’ of ultrasound over the areas. It causes the SMAS layer to heat up, shrink and tighten. This is what causes the skin above to lift and tighten, triggering a natural skin response that initiates a regenerative process through the production of neo-collagen.
HIFU can target the face, jawline, neck, forehead and around your eyes. You can have individual areas treated, or you can have them all covered in one treatment.
MAIN APPLICATIONS:
• Wrinkle reduction
• Non-surgical facelifitng
• Correction of the facial shape
• Lifting of the cheeks
• Eyebrow lifting
• Lifting of frown and forehead lines
• Lifting of nasolabial folds
• Elinmate Double Chin
• Lacrimal sac reduction
• Tightening of the décolletage
• Skin-smoothing treatment post liposuction
How many treatments will i need?
Many customers may require only one treatment of HIFU. Nevertheless, based upon the degree of skin laxity, the organic reaction to ultrasound energy and also the customer’s collagen-building process, some clients gain from additional treatment solution after 8– 12 weeks. Results from HIFU procedure can be seen within 12 weeks. Although, as the skin continues to age, future touch-up treatments might be required annually.
The treatment process
The ultrasound probe is evenly moved over the treatment areas in order to allow the high intensity focused ultrasound waves to reach the underlying connective tissue and generate the desired skin-tightening effects. The overlying skin layers remain unaffected, which means the lifting can be carried out gently and without a trace.
This gentle form of lifting can be used on the entire face to counteract sagging skin. The following areas are ideal for treatment: the neck region, chin, cheeks and eyebrow area. During a session, an individual area can be treated, or all areas can be treated at once.
Duration of Treatment
A single treatment takes between 30 minutes and 2.5 hours, depending on the area to be treated.
What are the side effects?
After treatment, you can immediately resume your normal activities because the skin’s upper layers are not damaged by the high intensity ultrasound. In some cases, slight redness or swelling may occur, which will quickly subside. There may also be a slight sensitivity to touch and light tingling sensation, which can persist for a few weeks. In very rare cases, bruising and temporary local numbness may occur. These side effects disappear after a few days.
How effective is HIFU?
It can be extremely effective if carried out on the right person. However it’s very difficult to quantify the visible improvement you’ll see.
Some clients will get great results and some will get less impressive results. It’s important to take photographs before and after, as it’s often difficult to see improvements on yourself which take place over time. Let’s face it, you don’t really see yourself getting older do you. Well the same is true for reversing the ageing process.
However, remember that although it’s a great advancement in non surgical anti-ageing, it’s not going to give you the results of surgery. That said, considering it’s a procedure with no side-effects and no incisions it’s an impressive treatment.
